Auth-Florence Manufacturing Company is the nation's preeminent manufacturer of superior quality mailboxes and accessories for centralized distribution and collection of mail packages. Auth-Florence is also the first and only company in their industry to be registered by UL to meet ISO 9001 standards - a sure sign of security, facilities and reliability.
Being a 63 year old company their technology is pretty prehistoric in nature. They do not even have an existing network for all of their departments just solitary workstation's acting alone and with node specific printers their setup was pretty inefficient. The network they wish to build will be department specific. Having several departments including, Call Center, Management, Factory, Engineering, Human Relations, and an office group department. Having the wishes for a departmental communications structure they wish to have inter-office as well as outside e-mail capabilities. They also wish to have a web site hosted with all of their information, such as product, parts, and engineering documentation on a secure area of the web site. They also wish to hold 300 users within this network for all of the departments combined, as well they wish to have an connection as fast as they can get with being within monthly budget which is as of yet to be determined.
Being a relativly small company comprised with about 450 workers and staff they have three main facilities in Chicago, Lombard, and Rockford. Their main facility in Lombard has been built with an office space which holds 4 rooms and 15 offices and a call center for all of the ordering inbound traffic. The departments Call Center, Management, Factory, Engineering, Human Relations, and an Office group department all report to the owner and the president of the company nothing in the company happens without going through them first. And as of yet the Owner and president has expressed the need for an efficient and powerful network which wont break the bank!!!
